Various energy sourcesAfter all the ridiculous inefficiency, now to photovoltaics: 200,000 Wh per m² and year. The areas of optimized human settlements are sufficient.Everything we have in terms of energy sources can be traced back to nuclear fusion. This is most obvious in the case of the sun. Every second, 600 million tons of hydrogen are fused into 596 million tons of helium in the sun. We live from this 4 million tons difference. The formula e=mc², i.e. energy is mass multiplied by the speed of light squared, is pretty powerful. The Hiroshima bomb, for example, only lost just under 1 g of mass through nuclear fission. The largest hydrogen bomb lost 3 kg. We regard electricity as the single currency in energy. Photovoltaics is the most direct use of solar energy, no moving parts, the photons just push a few electrons around. The first indirect method is to convert solar energy into heat and then use this heat to generate electricity. This is far too expensive and doesn't stand a chance against photovoltaics.
Water evaporates and later rains down again. Later, this rainwater runs from higher places to lower places. Energy can be extracted from it. 40 TWh/a on 83,871 km² of Austrian territory is 477 Wh per m² and year. Not a lot, even though Austria is a country favored by hydropower. Photosynthesis in plants splits CO2 into carbon and oxygen. This can later be burned again and the heat generated can be used to generate electricity. Maize to biogas creates 1,700 Wh per m² and year. When the earth's surface is heated differently, air currents form. Energy can be extracted from this. Austria managed 100 Wh per m² per year in 2023. Could you generate as much electricity as hydropower with 5 times more wind turbines? The first study on the reduction in wind speed due to a large number of wind turbines was carried out after the hurricane in New Orleans. With enough wind turbines at sea, the hurricane could have been slowed down to a tropical storm.
After all the ridiculous inefficiency of photovoltaics: 200,000 Wh per m² per year. The areas of human settlements are sufficient, at least if they are optimized. Even with 15 detached houses on one hectare, each with 20 kW of photovoltaics, it is only 300 kW per hectare. The energy-optimized settlement area increases this to 1,200 kW. Four times more than in a conventional residential area with an extremely high level of photovoltaics. Together with cheap sodium batteries for day/night balancing, currently on offer at around €54/kWh at cell level, and power to methane to CCGT power plants for summer/winter balancing, this is a solution that makes inefficient solutions obsolete.
This time the newsletter will be published on Monday because I was at a meeting of wind energy opponents in Nauaigen near Tulln on Sunday. Here to the website with the full speech. Incidentally, there was also a speaking time limit at the 2011 Gusi Peace Prize award ceremony. My speech was designed to last exactly 2 minutes. Other laureates, however, experienced a subtle but gradually louder and louder drum roll. My presentation was actually designed for 9 minutes, but I was much slower than in the draft,

Net zero emissions means reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a level that nature can supposedly absorb for a long time. For the rich, this means Maintain poverty, cause poverty, so that enough emission rights remain for the rich.
Planetary cleanup back to 350 ppm CO2 means around 47,000 TWh of electricity to filter 1 ppm CO2 from the atmosphere and recycle it into carbon and oxygen. Who can afford that? Only a rich humanity, 10 billion people in prosperity can do it.
It is a decision between 3 directions:
It's not about whether the shares will be worth 10 times or 100 times more in 20 years' time or whether they will only be worth a few cents. It's about the future of us all. Will there be a big showdown between eco-fascism and yesterday's fossils, or will it be possible to overcome the deep divisions in society and inspire supporters of both sides to work towards a great new goal? Global prosperity and planetary restoration instead of saving, restricting, renouncing and climate catastrophe or peak oil and a little more climate catastrophe. Both sides must be convinced that there is no solution that is even remotely viable. On the one hand, it must be shown that net-zero emissions are a completely inadequate target and that the goal must instead be a planetary clean-up back to 350 ppm CO2. The other side must be shown that solar power enables a higher standard of living than fossil energy. It's about survival! The social situation in 2024 compared to 2004. Extrapolating that to 2044 makes for a horror world! If we are successful and your shares are worth 100 times more, this is just an addition to all the other achievements. One new shareholder said "I with my very modest investment", but €4,000 times €1,000 is also €4 million for all investments up to the opening of the settlement in Unken as a starting point for global expansion. There is a reward program for recommending the share to others. Two of the new shareholders have become shareholders through this reward program. Here are the details.
My studies on off-grid fast-charging settlements have already resulted in initial contact and a video conference with the CEO of a major African company. The most important statements: "There are about 2 million homes missing" and "Solar-powered cement factories are a fascinating new idea". There are several chances of an event that could lead to a jump in the share price. At today's share price, € 2 million would be 10,000 packages at € 200 and 300,000 shares for the buyer. However, if these € 2 million are only worth 20% of the AG, this would logically result in a very significant jump in the share price. |
